An average adult loses about 100-150 strands of hair in a day. In most cases of hair loss in men, androgenetic alopecia or male pattern baldness is the main cause. After puberty, men&#8217;s hair begins to thin naturally. Approximately 20% of men in their twenties show signs of male pattern hair loss. This number increases to 40% for men in their 40s and 50% for men in their fifties. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Male pattern baldness is inherited genetically from the family. In this type of hair loss, the treatment is a temporary solution, the permanent solution is hair transplantation. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Hair transplantation can be applied especially to people with male pattern hair loss. Male pattern hair loss occurs in individuals genetically susceptible to it with the effect of the male hormone. Cells that produce hair around the hair follicle die under the action of this hormone. Thus, the hair becomes thinner, then begins to grow and finally shed completely. Hair transplantation is the most definitive and long-lasting treatment in these patients.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>What hormone causes hair loss in males? <\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Another reason for hair loss is hormones. Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is made from testosterone by an enzyme called 5 alpha-reductase. It can also be made from DHEA, a hormone more common in women. DHT is found in skin, hair follicles, and the prostate.
